About These Pieces

The jewelry on this site are from my work with delica beads in the last few years.  Delicas are small (11 to the inch), very precisely sized and come in a seemingly unending variety of colors and finishes. It’s like playing with a box of a 1000 plus crayons that have not only all the colors and metallic shades but which can also be dull, shiny, glossy or iridescent.  Put them into the brickwork pattern of the classic beadwork peyote stich and you have an infinite variety.  I have added handmade sterling silver clasps to many of the pieces, particularly the bracelets.

Each piece is individually designed and some of these pieces have been sold.  However, duplicates can be made of most of the pieces.  Bracelets can also be ordered to precisely fit any size. Contact me if you are interested in a copy of any of the pieces.

Meet Ancho

Meet Ancho

Ancho sits on my beading workspace.  He’s there because he was not willing, thank you very much, to become a bracelet.

His front foot was one bead off, blue was not a good ‘pop it out’ choice for color and when lying on your wrist as he was supposed to, he only shows his tummy with his head and long splendid tail curving around underneath your wrist - out of sight. Not up to the original design specs!  However, the background – a total experiment in creating a pebble surface for him, was an outstanding success and has been the stepping off point for several experiments in randomly patterning color.  Go figure.

One day he may be part of a useful object, but for now he’s my mascot.  He’s a reminder of what’s fun, frustrating and keeps my beading work a constant challenge.
